We stepped into a juror’s shoes for an evening of drama and twists. Here’s what I thought of Murder Trial Tonight III.
I had the chance to attend Murder Trial Tonight III, The Doorstep Case by Tigerslane Studios with my friends. This is theatre like no other. We joined the audience in participating in a thrilling murder trial and had to decide whether to find Dale Irvine guilty or not guilty. Here’s what I thought of this immersive theatre experience.

What is Murder Trial Tonight III, The Doorstep Case by Tigerslane Studios?
It’s a theatre production with a twist. Murder Trial Tonight takes a true-story murder case and brings it to the stage.

The evening begins with a video playing on screen that gives the audience an introduction to the case; it gives you a little information about the victim before they were murdered and is the opening of the evening.
The story then moves to the stage, where you witness a live murder trial in a courtroom setting.
The audience plays the part of the jury and listens to the prosecution and defence as they both present their cases, cross-examine all the witnesses, and then, at the end of the show, deliberate and deliver their verdict—guilty or not guilty.
Once the audience’s verdict is delivered, the show returns to the screen, where the murderer is revealed.
I attended the Liverpool show at the Auditorium, M&S Bank Arena

We were all excited as we attended Murder Trail Tonight II together and really enjoyed it! The Auditorium is an intimate venue perfect for this type of show. You get a great view anywhere you purchase a seat at this location. The staff were friendly and happy to help answer any questions we had.
The premise of Murder Trial Tonight III, The Doorstep Case, Dale Irvine’s murder trial
Meg Irvine has been found dead on her doorstep. Her husband, Dale, has been accused of the crime. Did he do it? Is he hiding something?
The third show of Murder Trial Tonight, The Doorstep Case, is based on a true story. It begins with footage capturing Megan Irvine’s final hours before she is discovered strangled at home on her doorstep. Her husband, Dale, faces murder charges in connection with her death.

Ian Houghton portrays prosecutor Miles Cavendish KC as methodical and easygoing. Alex Kapila portrays defence barrister Victoria Pelham KC as spirited and occasionally sarcastic yet resolutely focused on demonstrating that the evidence linking her client to the murder is purely circumstantial.
Karren Winchester presents an imposing presence to Judge Amanda Livingstone KC, but she has a talent for easing the atmosphere with her clever remarks.

Gavin Molloy delivers a powerful portrayal as defendant Dale Irvine, embodying a man who is desperately trying to convince everyone of his innocence in his wife’s murder.
I would love to tell you more! But this is a non-spoiler review.
The big question, did we decide guilty or not guilty?
I can’t say! But the overall vote on the day had a huge majority. I got my verdict wrong. So prepare to leave all your prejudices at the door.

The audience is not required to get up or speak, so don’t worry if that would put you off. You submit your verdict via an online link.
Tigerslane Studios
Tigerslane Studios is a London-based theatre company that delivers immersive theatrical shows throughout England, Wales, Scotland, and Ireland. The shows deliver high-energy performances with engaging storylines.
Is Murder Trial Tonight III gory?
We didn’t find the show gory. There are images including blood, and this is representative of a murder trial, so there are themes of violence and swearing. The show has an age limit of 16 due to the sensitive nature of specific themes.
I’d highly recommend this show! My friends and I loved taking everything in, discussing the case during the interval, and looking for holes in the evidence. Book tickets if you enjoy theatre, true crime documentaries, and immersive experiences.
Murder Trial Tonight, The Doorstep Case is touring the UK until June 2025; click here for further information and tickets.
