Hi there, I’m Shayle.

I’m an English and Creative Writing Graduate, poetry obsessed, total beach girl on a mission to tell your story and create unique content to get you seen and heard.

I have dabbled in teaching, one-to-one tutoring, graphic design, retail management, and copy and print retail. None of those paths fit my personality, and I was giving up so much of my time until I started freelance writing.

Freelance writing gives me time and freedom to travel, constantly learn, and raise my adventurous little boy while working and doing what I love.

Wirral is my home

Wirral is my home

Wirral is a place I’m genuinely passionate about sharing with people and including in my writing. I’m so lucky I grew up in Wirral; it shaped who I am. Now I am even fortunate to raise my son here. I am grateful to call this place my home.

For those that don’t know, Wirral is a peninsula just over the water from Liverpool. I’ve lived here my entire life and even returned after studying in Liverpool. My childhood was filled with endless days on the beach, swimming in the sea, walking through woodland, and visiting Liverpool, with incredible sunsets, friendly people, and utter peace.

This place is accountable for my love affair with the sea. I am not a total home bird, though my other great love is travelling.

I will be blogging regularly about Wirral on my personal blog, and it will give you tips and information from a local about visiting the area.

I’m a Mum

When I was 25, I had my Son, which was the worst day of my life.

Ah, don’t look so shocked! I endured 48 hours of labour, discovered I had preeclampsia, and eventually had an emergency caesarean section. In addition, my spinal tap went too high. I couldn’t feel myself breathing. I felt like I was dying. Afterwards, I suffered crippling PTSD.

But I survived, had the most amazing therapist, and my son is my total light, joy, adventure partner and the kindest human. I am so thankful for that experience because it made me realise how strong I am, and I appreciate every moment I am here to live in his story. It also made me realise that motherhood is far from perfect. It is only a tiny portion of what we see online. It’s difficult, exhausting and often pretty shitty between moments of unrivalled joy.

Content-wise, anything I write about motherhood on my blog won’t be sugar-coated and will be as truthful and informative as possible. We make the most of every second and spend our days dancing around the world and enjoying the outdoors.

Love, SH x
