Halloween is just around the corner, and picking your own pumpkin is a great way to spend time outdoors with the family. Here’s a selection of places in Wirral you can go pumpkin picking.
Hello spooky season! There is no better way to celebrate Halloween than to go to a pumpkin patch and choose the perfect pumpkin for your autumn display. There are plenty of places in Wirral where you can pick your own pumpkins, and we have tried and tested most of them over the last few years. So grab your wellies and prepare for autumn photo ops; here is a selection of places in Wirral where you can go pumpkin picking.

Pick your own pumpkins at Claremont Farm, Bebington
Visit Claremont Farm for classic orange pumpkins, ghost pumpkins, green pumpkins, and photo opportunities galore. The pumpkin picking field is a little further down the road from the farm and is signposted well, with a large car park. You only pay for your pumpkin; there is no entry price, and you pay per kg.

Claremont Farm has a great farm shop selling produce grown on the farm and in the surrounding area. They celebrate local produce by supporting a network of local producers, farmers, gamekeepers, and artisans who supply this farm shop. They also have a beautiful cafe that takes local produce and creates delicious food.
This year, weekends will look a little different; they are taking their Takeaway Trailer to the fields, so you can enjoy hot drinks and treats while you search for your favourite pumpkins. Sounds dreamy!
Old Clatterbridge Road, Bebington, Wirral CH63 4JB
Pick your own pumpkins at Vineyard Farm and Shop, Bebington
This working farm and farm shop are well established in Wirral; they have been there for over 60 years.

They have a pumpkin washing station and a pumpkin photo booth, too. Don’t fancy getting muddy? Don’t worry; they have ready-picked pumpkins by the shop. Dogs can join the fun if they are on a lead and well-behaved. Follow their Facebook page for more information.
Poulton Rd, Bebington, Birkenhead, Wirral CH63 9LQ
Pick your own pumpkins at Benty Farm Tearooms, Thurstaston
Thurstaston is one of our favourite places to walk and explore in Wirral, and Benty Farm Tearooms is the perfect place to stop for a slice of cake and a warm drink after finding that perfect pumpkin to take home! This year a ticket will be required to enter the pumpkin patch, so you will need to book in advance to visit. Tickets cost £2 each (under 2’s are free)

The entry fee does not include a pumpkin. Pumpkins will be weighed on the day per KG. Dogs are welcome in the cafe but not allowed on the pumpkin picking field, so please keep that in mind.
Wellies are required for all activities this year. Due to the showery weather, they have indoor and outdoor seating available. Visit here for the most beautiful displays here at Halloween. They go all out, and we love it.
3A School Ln, Thurstaston, Birkenhead, Wirral CH61 0HH
Pumpkin Patch Trail, Gordale Garden Centre, South Wirral, Neston
Search for pumpkins hidden across their trail at Gordale Garden Centre. Can you find the secret code? Once you do, you will be granted access to the pumpkin patch to pick your pumpkin. You don’t need to book this event beforehand; just turn up. The price is £4.50 per child includes a trail sheet and one pumpkin.

Just a reminder: There is no need to book, just turn up. This event is indoors, so you won’t need your wellies and raincoats. Be sure to bring your camera for plenty of photo opportunities. The Pumpkin Patch Trail is open every day until 5 p.m. Don’t forget to dress up!
