We’ve been spending more time at Bank Cafe and Bar in Hoylake, and here are a few reasons I love this little spot!
Bank Cafe and Bar Hoylake is perfect for lunch, coffee, cocktails, small plates, and those “shall we go somewhere?” moments when you just need to get out for a bit. Here are five reasons I love it.
There’s a real sense of community at Bank Cafe and Bar
One of the things I love about Bank Cafe and Bar is that it feels like a proper community spot. During the day, you’ll see all sorts going on, whether it’s crochet groups, writing groups, book clubs or people just getting a bit of work done with a coffee.

In the evening, it has a different feel, with events, live music and people meeting up for a drink or two. It’s the sort of place that works whether you’re catching up with friends, getting out of the house for a bit or sitting quietly with a coffee and having a little people-watch.
They feature live music nights
I love popping in when they’ve got live music on. They support local bands, which is always lovely to see, and they often have happy hour deals in the evening too.

It’s worth checking what’s on before you go, as their events can change. They’re good at updating their Facebook page, so that’s usually the best place to see what’s coming up.
They make great cocktails
Bank has been my go-to for hot chocolate and a bit of work after the school run for a while now, and their hot drinks have always been really good.

I’ve also been in during the evening a few times, and I’m slowly making my way through their cocktail list. Their margarita is my favourite so far. Hoylake has its fair share of pubs and bars, but if you want a really good cocktail, Bank is ideal.
There are loads of choices on the drinks menu, including non-alcoholic options, so you’re not stuck if you’re driving or not drinking.
You can pop in for cake and coffee or small plates and wine

They’ve definitely upped their menu game lately. There are light bites, sandwiches, soups, homemade cakes and sweet treats, and I even spotted scouse on the menu recently, which feels very right for a Wirral winter.
You can hire Bank Cafe and Bar as a venue
You can also hire Bank Cafe and Bar for private events. I recently saw it set up for a party and the space looked fantastic, really relaxed but still special enough for a proper get-together.

If you’re planning something, it’s worth asking about food and drink packages in person or sending them a message on Facebook with your name and contact details.
